Capacity and division: read the whole model table.

Use a real JWE model table to separate the maximum load from the displayed increment before preparing your enquiry.

Start with two different questions

How much do you need to weigh, and what increment do you need to read? Those are separate questions. A scale’s capacity and its division appear alongside one another in a model table, but they describe different characteristics.

OIML’s terminology distinguishes maximum capacity from the actual scale interval, which for a digital indication is the difference between consecutive indicated values. A model table is a useful starting point for comparing those numbers; it is not a substitute for the instrument’s complete specification or a statement of suitability for your application.

Read the JWE range one model at a time

The JWE brochure reviewed for this catalogue lists the following combinations. Keep each capacity paired with its own model rather than combining the largest capacity and the smallest division from different columns.

JWE model combinations in the supplied brochure
ModelCapacityDivision
JWE-3K3 kg0.1 g
JWE-6K6 kg0.2 g
JWE-15K15 kg0.5 g
JWE-30K30 kg1 g

For example, the 15 kg and 0.5 g figures belong together under JWE-15K. The 0.1 g figure belongs to JWE-3K. The product page keeps this pairing visible when you change the selected model.

Check more than the digits on the display

The JWE brochure also lists a 334 × 245 mm weighing pan, overall dimensions and an optional RS-232 interface. Those details help describe the physical requirement and any connection you need to discuss. The JCL range is a different product family with a different model table and a 294 × 228 mm pan.

A displayed increment is not, by itself, an accuracy claim. OIML treats scale divisions, indications and errors as distinct subjects. If your work calls for calibration, verification or another documented requirement, include that requirement explicitly in the enquiry rather than assuming it from the number of display digits.

Turn the table into a clear enquiry

  • Name the exact model or list the models you want to compare.
  • Describe the typical item and the largest load you expect to weigh.
  • State the weighing-pan space and any connection requirement you need checked.
  • Include the quantity and the application, with any documented verification or calibration requirement.

The reviewed JWE and JCL brochures do not state a revision date. Their values are shown as source information, with the current manufacturer revision still to be confirmed. Ask for that confirmation before relying on a model table for a final purchasing decision.
